If there is an abundance, it should be Free
What is the future of distribution?
Blauw Films
Would you charge for air?
This has been a central question to our Blauw Films productions. Music, film and art are abundant. Especially in their digital form.
Having to pay for the abundant digital art feels counter-intuitive at best.
Our way of thinking aligns with a quote from the late Nipsey Hussle.
“It’s going against the laws of nature to charge for something that is ubiquitous. It would be like charging for air.” — Nipsey Hussle
However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t charge for customer enhanced experiences.
A film-screening with a live-audience provides added value to the art in the form of an immersive sound and projection experience, a network of like-minded visitors, and a memorable day-out.
What matters most is providing a tailored and customer direct experience.
Examples of added value to the art could be a physical Blu-ray with additional Learning Content and exhibitions. The beauty is that the market opportunities are unique to the project you’re making. It’s important to be flexible when exploring them.
For these reasons at Blauw Films we make sure there is always a free version available of our projects, that’s accessible for our community to enjoy.
