Minimal Art Prints about Creativity, Flow and Imagination
Ethos visualised through Graphic Design
Blauw Films
Blauw Films was build on the ideology to create art from limitless dreams of creativity. These art prints visualise that ethos.
"Blauw" is Dutch for Blue. Our studio, Blauw Films, was named after this colour. To us, Blauw represents a fictional state of being, in which imagination flows freely into creative expression.
We often use the saying "Dreaming in Blauw", to describe the process of materialising one's creative ideas.
Dream in Blauw
The text on this poster spells: "Dream in Blauw, Create Art Independently, Express Creative Purity and Love." This message is what lies at the core of our Studio. It is the ethos on which Blauw Films is build. We created this poster to remind ourselves of our mission.
To create art independently is not always easy. But we persevere through our wish to express creative purity. Art for art's sake.
The graphic design of Dream in Blauw is formatted into an Snellen eye test, to remind us to tread through the creative process with care and intent.
17 Over Blauw
Blauw represents a state of being. It represents the time we all live in, the here and now. Everything is possible when one lives in the continious state of here and now.
The first time the term "Blauw" came up, was in one of Leo's art projects. He created a clock with only one arm, pointing 17 minutes away from a blue slice. The project was called "17 Over Blauw". As time tickes away, the single arm never gets closer to or further from the blue slice. The time is always 17 minutes past Blauw.
"17 Over Blauw" was featured at the "Time and Space Exhibition", from November to December 2024.
In this work, Blauw also represents the flow-state. The time is always 17 past blue, as thus creative opportunity is endless.
The Cycle of Creativity
The infinite battle between profit and creative persuits. In the Blauw ideology, these two aspects are not in battle, but in harmony. Both the financial as the spiritual side of art-making can be represented as a flow-state.
The Cycle of Creativity print serves as a reminder that Idea Flow and Cash Flow are two sides of the same coin. Let the two move in harmony, without one disturbing the other, and watch your dreams come true.
