Per-channel grain-control

Controlling the amount of film grain on your footage and deciding on where the grain shows up can be done with a super simple After Effects set-up.
Realistically adding film grain should not be about simply applying a grain-clip to the entire footage and setting it to overlay.

Film grain, in accurate film emulation, is present at different levels in certain color channels.
It also tends to show up at different intensities based on the value of the image below.

In the example below you can see how there is strong grain in the brighter areas of the shot as opposed to the dark areas.
