Creating a 3D shining planet

We've been working hard on realising our vision for our short sci-fi film Syntactic Labyrinths. This space film requires us to make many different planets and by approaching each one of them in a physically accurate way, you'll get solid results. Venus is the brightest planet in our solar system. The rocky surface covered with shiny reflective clouds makes it such pretty planet.

In this tutorial we will be going over how to use the Corona Volume Material with a bright white Absorption color and a Venus Texture map as a Scattering output. We will be covering how to generate a realistic looking atmosphere for this planet. We will also cover some basic compositing techniques in After Effects including some Post-processing and Color Correction.
