In this tutorial I'll teach you how to check the exposure of your star assets to match your backplate. We will also have a look at a simple day for night effect that cover some techniques I learned in Photoshop. I would like to thank Teresa Almeida for allowing me to use some footage from her latest short film Peter Walter for this tutorial. I worked on her film as a Visual Effects artist and turning this shot into a night scene with twinkling stars was one of my tasks. I will explain how to use Cinema 4D and Corona Renderer to check your exposure of your stars.
By setting up your camera settings to match the settings of your backplate you can clearly see how much brighter your star assets are or should be. This is mainly a compositing tutorial.
